Saving and Opening Figures in the Plot Editor

Saving a Figure as a Figure File

Save a figure that was annotated or labeled with the Plot Editor so that you can open the figure during another session and continue editing it.

   1.
Select Save from the File menu or click the save button on the toolbar.
   2.
If this is the first time you are saving the file, the Save As dialog box appears. Type the File name of the figure, be sure that the Save as type is Figure file, and click OK.
The figure is saved as a figure file (.fig), which is a binary file used for figures created with the Plot Editor.
You can also use the saveas command.

If you want to use the figure in another application, see Exporting and Copying Figures from the Plot Editor.
