Exporting and Copying Figures from the Plot Editor

When you save a figure in the Plot Editor, the result is a figure file (.fig), which can then be opened and edited in the Plot Editor. If you want to use a figure with an application other than the Plot Editor, you can:

Exporting a Figure (Saving to a Different Format)

   1.
Select Export from the File menu.
The Export dialog box appears.
   2.
Complete the fields and click Save.
Note that in the Plot Editor you can open only a figure file (.fig), so in addition to exporting a figure, save it as a figure file (.fig) - see Saving a Figure as a Figure File.

Copying a Figure to the Windows Clipboard

This feature is for Windows platforms only.

   1.
Select Copy Options from the Edit menu.
The Copying Options page of the Preferences dialog box appears.
   2.
Complete the fields on the Copying Options page and click OK.
   3.
Select Copy Figure from the Edit menu.
The figure is copied to the Windows clipboard. You can then paste the figure from the Windows clipboard into a file in another application.
