Using This Guide

Use this guide as you work with the software to learn about the powerful capabilities of the SimMechanics.

The guide's chapters fall into three parts:

• This help overview and the first two chapters introduce SimMechanics features, survey the SimMechanics libraries, and quickly moves you into building simple tutorial models. Simulink and/or mechanical simulation beginners should start here.
• The next three chapters cover the general and detailed procedures for full use of SimMechanics. As you become acquainted with SimMechanics, try the tutorials first, then skim these chapters and refer back to them for details.
• The last four chapters provide block and function reference pages, a glossary of special terms, and a short bibliography.

In the online Help system, you can use the Contents pane on the left of the Help browser to find a section or chapter.

Note    This SimMechanics User's Guide assumes that you already have some experience with building and running models in Simulink.
