Data Acquisition Toolbox

Troubleshooting Your Hardware

This appendix describes simple tests you can perform to troubleshoot your National Instruments, Measurement Computing, Agilent Technologies, and sound card hardware. The tests involve using software provided by the vendor or the operating system (sound cards), and do not involve using the Data Acquisition Toolbox. The sections are as follows.
Agilent Technologies Hardware
How to use the Soft Front Panel
Measurement Computing Hardware
How to use InstaCal
National Instruments Hardware
How to use the Measurement & Automation Explorer
Sound Cards
How to use Windows resources
Other Things to Try
How to register the hardware driver adaptor or contact The MathWorks

To accurately test your hardware, you should use these vendor tools to match the requirements of your data acquisition session. For example, you should select the appropriate sampling rate, number of channels, acquisition mode (continuous or single-point), and input range. If these tests do not help you, then you might need to register the hardware driver adaptor or contact The MathWorks for support. Contact information is provided in Contacting The MathWorks as well as in the beginning of this guide. If the problem is with your hardware, then you should contact the hardware vendor.
Note that if you cannot access your board using the vendor's software, then you will not be able to do so with the Data Acquisition Toolbox.
