Select an Instrument Object to Create

Select one of the following instrument objects to create.

• serial port - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a serial I/O port.
• GPIB - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a supported GPIB controller. You can use the GPIB object with Agilent, Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC), CEC, Keithley, IOTech, or National Instruments controllers.

• All VISA objects use the VISA standard as implemented by Agilent Technologies, National Instruments, or Tektronix.

• VISA-serial - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a serial I/O port.
• VISA-GPIB - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a supported GPIB controller.
• VISA-VXI - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a VXI chassis.
• VISA-GPIB-VXI - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a VXI chassis, and that has a GPIB-VXI command module in slot 0.
• TCPIP - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a network through the TCP/IP protocol.
• UDP - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a network through the UDP/IP protocol.
