Select an Instrument Object to Create

Select one of the following instrument objects to create.

• serial port - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a serial I/O port.
• GPIB - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a supported GPIB controller. You can use the GPIB object with Agilent, CBI, CEC, Keithley, IOTech, or National Instruments controllers.

All VISA objects use the VISA standard as implemented by National Instruments or Agilent Technologies.

• VISA-serial - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a serial I/O port.
• VISA-GPIB - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a supported GPIB controller.
• VISA-VXI - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a VXI chassis.
• VISA-GPIB-VXI - Create an object that is associated with an instrument connected to a VXI chassis, and that has a GPIB-VXI command module in slot 0.
