Using This Guide

This user's guide describes how to install and use the Database Toolbox.

Expected Background

This user's guide assumes that you have a working understanding of MATLAB.

If you are not familiar with the Structured Query Language (SQL) and database applications, use the Visual Query Builder. For information on using the Visual Query Builder, see Visual Query Builder.

If you are familiar with SQL and the database applications you use, you can use the Visual Query Builder to build SQL queries easily and import results into MATLAB. If you want to export results from MATLAB to databases, write MATLAB applications that access databases, or perform functions not available with the Visual Query Builder, use the Database Toolbox functions. For information on how to use the functions, see Using Functions in the Database Toolbox, and Function Reference.
