Blocks in the Model

The following table lists the most important blocks in the model and describes their purpose.

Block
Purpose in Example
Pulse Generator
Generates the reference signal, which is a periodic pulse train.
Logical Operator (XOR)
XOR's the frequency-divided reference signal with the frequency-divided synthesized signal.
Analog Filter Design
Uses a lowpass Butterworth filter to generate the control signal (along with the Gain block) and filter out high frequencies.
Gain
Multiplies the signal by a constant.
Voltage-Controlled Oscillator
Controls the frequency of the synthesized signal, by means of the input control signal.
