Smallest positive floating-point number
Syntax
Description
returns the smallest positive normalized floating-point number on a particular computer. Anything smaller underflows or is an IEEE "denormal." n = realmin
Examples
realmin is 2^(-1022) or about 2.2251e-308.
Algorithm
The realmin function is equivalent to pow2(1,minexp) where minexp is the smallest possible floating-point exponent.
Execute type realmin to see minexp for various computers.
