Creating Subplots
Use the Plot Editor to create multiple plots (subplots) within a figure.
Important:
Create subplots before adding annotations and legends because annotations and legends are not anchored to the axes. If you add annotations and legends first and then later modify the axes, the annotations and legends do not move with the axes and you probably will need to reposition them.
To create subplots in a figure window:
- 1
. - Select Add Axes from the Tools menu.
- A crosshair cursor appears in the figure window.
- 2
. - Draw the outline for the axes.
- The new axes are added to the figure window.
- 3
. - Reposition the subplots. See Positioning Axes.
All Plot Editor axes tools as well as any plot
functions you perform from the command line apply to the current subplot. Click on a subplot to make it the current subplot.
