Canton is an electrostatic simulation program that has a main function the analysis of sets of "pith-balls" suspended from strings. It can also be used as a general capacitance calculator for tri-dimensional structures of conductors. Objects composed of spheres or flat plates, suspended from strings, are described as a text. The assembly can be visualized in a window and rotated using the mouse. The program then computes how the assembly stabilizes, considering electrical and gravitational forces, listing several parameters as charges, forces, distances, etc. The stability of the solutions can also be analyzed.
